Hi, I’m Clementine, and I am a senior living in Charleston, South Carolina, and the founder, researcher, and host of Made by Her. 

Growing up, I’ve always been fascinated by people’s stories, decisions, and moments when they decided to change something about their lives or others’ lives. I believe that the most inspirational people are the ones who see something missing and don’t just wonder, but let their curiosity be a call to create the missing piece. 

As I’ve gotten older and am beginning to consider what it means to pursue a meaningful career and build a purposeful life, I’ve noticed the incredible women around me, in the news, and in academia who have created opportunities for others where none existed before—starting businesses, changing industries, mentoring others, constructing communities, and most importantly, changing lives. Yet so many of their stories remain unheard by the ones who really need to hear them 

I created Made by Her to change that. 

Through conversations with women across industries and communities, I am exploring the power behind a person who recognizes a need but chooses to do something about it. 

Made by Her is about more than the women I interview; it’s also about the woman I am becoming, and the woman young girls around the world are being taught to be. I want young women to read these stories and learn to be bold, confident, and an amplifier of good in the world like the women featured on Made by Her. I hope their experiences remind young girls that they don’t have to wait for something to be made; they can identify what’s missing, assess what’s needed, and create something to address the gap. 

Every conversation reinforces one idea: leadership isn’t always about having the loudest voice or holding the most powerful title. It’s about noticing what others overlook, and having the courage and curiosity to create a space for opportunities, collaboration, and to bridge voices and ideas. 

Made by Her is a collection of stories about women who identified a gap in their communities and created an initiative to be the missing piece. What’s this platform’s goal? To inspire you to think about what’s missing in your own community or life, and give you the courage and inspiration to create something too.
